Oklahoma signs bill protecting rights including cryptocurrency mining, self-custody

ChainCatcher news, Oklahoma, USA, signed a bill to protect encryption-related rights, HB 3594. Gov. Kevin Stitt approved the bill on May 13 and it will take effect on Nov. 1, according to the state Legislature's website.
Under the new law, the Oklahoma state government cannot ban, restrict or impair the use of cryptocurrencies in purchases and rights such as self-custody.
Additionally, state and local governments cannot impose additional taxes or other fees specifically targeting cryptocurrencies, fiat currency taxes apply, and it is legal to engage in either type of mining in the state to protect local household crypto mining and mining mining companies.
